Ironclad Barbers
A shop front online, with booking front and centre.

- Palette
A design concept for a fictional business. Ironclad Barbers is not a real company and this is not a paying client project.
The brief
What this business actually needs from a website.
- People choosing a barber are buying taste as much as a haircut, so the site has to look the part.
- The two things they actually want are the price list and the next free slot.
- Almost all of this traffic is mobile, much of it from Google Maps or Instagram.
Design decisions
Prices in plain sight
A full price list on the homepage instead of a hidden page. Hiding prices loses more bookings than a high price ever does.
Today's slots on the homepage
Showing real availability makes booking feel like a two-second decision rather than a form to fill in.
Serif type and warm paper tones
The typography does the branding, so the shop looks established without needing a big photo shoot on day one.
Hours and location treated as content
Opening times, the nearest station and parking are given real space — they are the most-read words on any local shop's site.
What a build like this includes
- Booking system integration
- Price list managed by the owner
- Google Maps and Instagram links
- Opening hours in search results
- Gallery ready for real photography
